How Pricing Works: What Your Terra Luna Claim Is Worth Today

Published by TerraClaim · September 2026
Quick answer: your offer is your Allowed Crypto Loss Claim amount multiplied by the rate institutional buyers currently pay for Terra Luna claims. It is a firm cash offer, paid in full at closing, with no fees deducted from you.
What you are actually selling
When Terraform Labs filed for Chapter 11, every creditor who filed a claim eventually received a Notification of Initial Determination from Kroll, the claims agent. The number on it is your Allowed Crypto Loss Claim amount (Allowed CLC). That figure, not the coins you held or the dollars you lost, is what a buyer purchases.
You can find it at claims.terra.money. It is the only number you need to get a price.
How the offer is computed
Buyers of bankruptcy claims price in cents per dollar of allowed claim. The offer you see on TerraClaim is that rate applied to your Allowed CLC amount. A $400,000 allowed claim at 2.5 cents per dollar is a $10,000 cash offer.
As of September 2026, firm offers on allowed Terra Luna claims sit at 2.5 cents per dollar. The rate is set by what the buyer desk is willing to pay and is the same for every claim of the same status, regardless of size.
There are no fees on your side. The number shown is the number paid.
What moves the number
Claim status. An allowed claim is priced. A disputed claim, or one still waiting for a determination, is reviewed on a call before an offer is firm.
The estate timeline. Roughly half of all claims have received an initial determination, no distribution date has been announced, and the lawsuits that could enlarge the pot go to trial in 2026 or later. Buyers price that waiting time and uncertainty in.
Recovery expectations. The rate reflects what the market expects the estate to eventually pay out, discounted for time and risk. When expectations move, the rate moves with them.
Why the rate is far below face value
A claim is a right to a share of whatever the estate distributes, whenever it distributes it. Nobody knows the final recovery or its date. The buyer takes on that risk and that wait. The gap between face value and the offer is the price of certainty today.
What is locked once you accept
The moment you accept, the rate is locked on your offer record. Every later step reads that same number: the onboarding page, the Transfer of Claim Agreement, and the payout. It does not move because a setting changed in the meantime.
One exception: if the allowed amount on your claim document differs from the amount you typed, the offer is recalculated at the same rate on the corrected amount, and you are told so on the page and by email.
How and when you get paid
You choose USDC or a bank wire when you request your offer. USDC is paid within 24 hours of signing, a bank wire within 1 to 5 business days. Payment goes directly to you. TerraClaim does not hold or escrow funds.
The transfer is filed with the Delaware Bankruptcy Court under Rule 3001(e), so every completed sale is publicly verifiable on the docket.
